The Buna-Nitrile bladder and seal material is standard and suitable for most fluid power applications. Buna-N is readily available.
Lightning Hybrids bladder accumulators can be readily installed vertically, or at any angle depending on the application. The fluid port must be at the bottom when the accumulator is installed vertically or horizontally. Specific orientations are preferable for applications listed below:
- Energy Storage: vertical
- Maintaining Constant Pressure: any position from vertical to horizontal
- Pulsation Damping: any position from vertical to horizontal
- Volume Compensation: any position from vertical to horizontal
- Full peripheral impact and abuse testing including sidewall region
- Tested to over 500,000 cycles, currently testing up to 3 million cycles
- Burst tested to a safety factor greater than 3.4 times operating pressure
- Inherent leak-before-burst fatigue failure mode
- Safety shut-off valve
- Compliant with applicable standards of USDOT CPPC (gas transport and fuel tank) and ANSI/CSA NGV2
